Kidney cancer, which can be born with the progression of kidney tumors, can usually occur in individuals between the ages of 50-70 and its incidence is higher in men. Although the factors that can cause kidney cancer have not been clearly identified yet, some factors can be a precursor of cancer.
There are some factors that are the determinants of the developing tumor in the kidney. In individuals with cancer, blood in the urine, pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, high fever can be observed. If patients have these and similar complaints, they should see a doctor and undergo some tests.
However, it should not be forgotten that kidney tumors can be seen without any symptoms. In particular, the findings may progress towards the organ where cancer has spread. For this reason, it is necessary to carefully follow the changes in the body and health of the person.
The first step in diagnosing kidney cancer is an examination by a doctor. The focus of the examination is whether there is a swelling or stiffness in the kidney region with a different course than normal. If stiffness is involved, there is a possibility of a mass. Afterward, the doctor may recommend a urine test and/or blood test. One of the most important symptoms of a kidney tumor (which occurs from time to time) is blood in the urine of the patient. For this reason, the tests to be performed and the patient’s complaints are of great importance for the diagnosis of the disease.
One of the most effective methods of diagnosing kidney cancer is by performing imaging tests. As a result of imaging performed with tests such as ultrasound, MR or CT, PET, it is possible to obtain detailed information about the tumor. All details that help to estimate the average life expectancy of the patient can be accessed by imaging techniques. A treatment method is selected according to the patient’s condition and the details of cancer, and the most appropriate treatment method is followed by the specialist doctor and his/her team.
