What is Pectus Carinatum?

When Should the Surgery Be Done?

It is recommended to be done at an early age before scoliosis and posture disorders occur. However, in surgeries performed before the age of 5, it has been observed that its development is adversely affected and it causes some lung diseases. If there is compression causing cardiopulmonary dysfunction, the operation is performed at an earlier age. Patients who are considered for surgery due to cosmetic and psychosocial reasons should be expected to be 5 years old.
